ANTHONY DAVV
BIO
New Orleans-born DIY producer, musician and vocalist, Anthony Davv is a musical anomaly. He defies genres, fusing sounds of Hip-Hop, Funk, Soul, and Rock in order to create melancholic melodies while weaving optimistic, confident, and hopeful themes into his music; forming a sound that takes a life of its own. His upcoming EP "Bass Lines & Tuff Times" will be the first debut of his studio work.
Born Gerrin Anthony Davenport, Anthony Davv dove into the world of music at the age of 7 years old when he began playing the violin and cello in a string assembly. Soon, he would find himself playing guitar and various percussion instruments from middle school to high school, while also winning school poetry contests and playing in Lousiana's state marching band for high schoolers. Davv began making music in his late teenage years, starting off with beat making. Over time, Davv would gain musical influence from a diverse range of artists such as: Gorillaz, Flying Lotus, Nujabes, Thundercat, and Foster the People to name a few. These influences would eventually dig Davv outside of the box of only being a beatmaker. In college, Davv went by several aliases until eventually changing his moniker to Anthony Davv, which is his middle name and the first syllable of his last name. During his time making music, he has worked as a producer on several passion projects for friends and local artists in Louisiana: New Orleans, specifically.

After moving to Houston, Davv spent his time focusing inward on developing himself into the artist he wants to be. Using the electric bass and guitar along with percussion and keyboards, Davv rolled out an unpolished instrumental autobiography titled "A Time to Remember" that released in 2020. It is labeled as one of his personal successes, kickstarting his focus on drawing in attention to himself as an artist with capabilities. After the rollout and release of this album produced in his bedroom during quarantine, Davv wanted to do more with music making. Given that he is naturally poetic, he's approaching this aspiration with a lot to say. Themes pertaining to the everyday struggle, bad romances, and self-care is where Davv began to get his best inspiration. He wants to keep his art grounded to the fact that he is still a regular person like everyone else, with regular problems. This self-exploration and transformation from being known as a voiceless beat maker to a vocal artist is explored on his upcoming EP "Bass Lines & Tuff Times".
